Rahima Khan, Conservative candidate for Mayor of Newham, speaks out about the importance of community centres for residents. Rahima says:

Our community centres are at the heart of our communities. They provide venues for voluntary groups to meet and host everything from fitness classes and support for new parents through to providing residents with local information about vital services and a place for the elderly to socialise.

If elected as Mayor of Newham I will safeguard and support our community centres to help them offer an even better service to residents.

I will ensure that community centres are not put at risk of closure and ensure they remain at the centre of our communities.
